unTill and CustomerEagle: a reservation system that talks to your till

Keep unTill at the bar and add reservations, a live floor and guest spend history that stay in sync with it. What the integration does, how it works and where its limits are.

Also available in: Nederlands · Deutsch · Français · Español

Your unTill till already knows the truth about the evening: which tables are open, what was ordered and when the bill was settled. Your reservation book usually doesn't. So the host walks to the bar to check whether table 12 has paid, a guest who spends a lot every month is treated like a first visit, and a booking made on the website is typed into the till by hand. CustomerEagle now connects to unTill, so the two systems share that knowledge instead of your team carrying it between them.

Why connect a reservation system to unTill at all?

A reservation system on its own guesses. It assumes a table is free two hours after the booking started, it knows a guest visited but not what they spent, and it cannot tell a host that table 4 just asked for the bill. A till on its own knows all of that, but it doesn't take bookings from your website, answer the phone at 17:45 or remind a guest about tomorrow's reservation. Connecting the two gives each system the part it is missing.

What the integration does today

Reservations appear on the till

Every booking created in CustomerEagle, whether through your website widget, the booking page, a host or the AI phone assistant, is sent to unTill straight away on the linked table. The guest's name, party size, dietary notes and contact details travel with it, so the waiter sees them at the till. A changed time or party size updates the same reservation; a cancellation or no-show cancels it on the till. Nothing is typed twice.

The till moves the floor forward

unTill reports back what happens at the table. Accepting the reservation at the till marks the party as seated. An open table with orders shows as ordered. A printed proforma shows that the bill was requested. A closed transaction completes the visit and frees the table on the floor plan. Hosts see the real state of the room without walking to the bar, and a table that clears early becomes available for the next walk-in or waitlist guest.

Spend on every guest card

When a bill is paid, CustomerEagle links it to the guest, either through the unTill client record or through the reservation's contact. The guest card then shows spend per visit, spend per cover and lifetime spend. The same figures reach segments, marketing fields, reports and booking-channel attribution, so you can see which channel brings the guests who actually spend. Only paid bills count; a voided bill never inflates a guest's history.

Allergy slips in the kitchen and your menu as a starting point

Optionally, CustomerEagle prints an allergy slip on your kitchen printer when a party with dietary notes is seated, also when the till seated them. Your unTill articles can also be imported as a draft menu in CustomerEagle, so the published menu on your widget starts from the dishes you actually sell. You review the draft before anything is published.

How it works behind the scenes

You create a dedicated POS user in unTill Backoffice and enter its credentials in CustomerEagle under Restaurants → Settings → Till (POS). CustomerEagle tests the connection with the till before saving, stores the credentials encrypted, and asks you to link each table on your floor plan to its unTill table number. The connection uses unTill's official API; unTill advises reading a till at most every five minutes, so status updates arrive within that window, while new reservations go to the till immediately.

CustomerEagle stays the source of truth for reservations. With the "follow the till" switches on, which is the default, the till may only move a booking forward: seated, ordered, bill, completed. It can never cancel or rewrite a reservation on its own. If someone cancels a reservation at the till, CustomerEagle flags it and alerts your staff instead of quietly dropping the guest.

What changes on a Friday night

  1. 17:40 — a guest books through the AI phone assistant. The reservation is on the till for table 8 before the call ends, with "gluten-free" in the notes.
  2. 19:02 — the party is seated at the till. The floor plan in CustomerEagle switches table 8 to seated, and the kitchen printer produces the allergy slip.
  3. 20:31 — the proforma is printed. The host sees "bill" on table 8 and offers it to the couple on the waitlist.
  4. 20:44 — the bill is paid. The visit is completed, the spend appears on the guest card and the next day's thank-you message can go out to guests who agreed to receive it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to replace unTill to use CustomerEagle?

No. unTill stays your till for orders and payments. CustomerEagle adds reservations, the floor plan, the waitlist, guest communication and AI phone bookings, and keeps them in sync with unTill through its official API.

Does a booking from my website appear on the unTill till?

Yes. Every reservation created in CustomerEagle, from the widget, the booking page, a host or the AI phone assistant, is sent to unTill immediately on the linked table, including the guest name, party size and dietary notes.

How quickly does table status from unTill reach CustomerEagle?

CustomerEagle reads each unTill till at most every five minutes, as unTill advises. Seated, ordered, bill requested and paid therefore show on the floor plan within about five minutes; new reservations go to the till straight away.

Can unTill cancel or change a reservation in CustomerEagle?

No. Reservations are always led by CustomerEagle. The till can only move a booking forward through seated, ordered, bill and completed. A cancellation at the till is flagged for staff and raises an alert instead of removing the guest.

Which spend figures appear on the guest card?

Paid unTill bills linked to the guest give spend per visit, spend per cover and lifetime spend. Voided bills are not counted. The same figures are available in segments, marketing fields, reports and booking-channel attribution.

Which CustomerEagle plan do I need for unTill?

The unTill integration is part of the Restaurant Service plan and above, priced per location without a per-cover fee. You also need a POS user in unTill Backoffice that CustomerEagle can connect with.
